Spring 2019: Fight or Flight

Editor's Note
Each semester, Brevia regales its readers with writing that fits neatly under a one-worded theme. For the sake of innovation, we present to you the first issue of Brevia with a two-worded theme: Fight or Flight. Why? Because, for the very first time, we believe you deserve to choose how to respond to our articles. Will you engage them mano-a-mano with fire in your heart, or will you slam our magazine shut and tear its pages apart? We sincerely hope you pick the former course of action, but we completely understand if you fall within the latter faction. Research is polarizing.

Yes, this issue of Brevia will force you to make tough decisions for even tougher problems. But don’t let that overwhelm you. Take this morsel of not-so-light reading as a chance to exercise your imagination. You’ll need to fight through your own overzealousness at learning how Spartans fought its fiercest foes. And time will fly as you learn how hummingbirds and fruit flies do, so be sure to take in every last bit of wonder while you can.

With that, we think you’re ready. Go on. Turn the page.
